Job Description
The School of Architecture and Design (SoAD) at Wentworth Institute of Technology is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This faculty position is expected to begin in the fall of 2024.
Teaching responsibilities
The selected candidate will have various teaching responsibilities within the Industrial Design program. These responsibilities include implementing programmatic coursework at different levels, ranging from foundational courses in drawing, modelmaking, color theory, and visual communications to more advanced courses in CAD, rapid prototyping, research methodologies, design theory, and thematic design studios. The faculty member is expected to deliver courses that integrate their areas of expertise and work collaboratively within a small group of faculty. They will also be involved in advising students and participating in service obligations at the school, university, and community levels. Demonstrating both methodological and pedagogical flexibility is essential to meet the demands of the students and evolving profession.
Collaboration in the launch of new MDES degree and graduate certificate(s) programs

- The ability to demonstrate and communicate technical know-how in the classroom
- Demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and mentorship, preferably with a minimum of 1 year of full-time university-level teaching experience beyond graduate-level assistantships
