Description

Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of transmission line and substation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role involves coordinating project activities, managing client and vendor relationships, and overseeing project documentation and financials. The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful outcomes while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client and team communications and project activities through frequent meetings.
  • Oversee and delegate vendor management activities, ensuring POs are accurate and timely.
  • Manage expectations and relationships between the company and subcontractors, procuring and negotiating as needed.
  • Oversee and delegate the various financial implications of starting and completing a project.
  • Participate and oversee various aspects of projects from the bid phase to completion, ensuring appropriate documentation throughout.
  • Develop, propose, and adhere to annual budgets while planning several fiscal years ahead and report financial performance to management regularly.
  • Meet with senior management to determine organization strategy and departmental goals.
  • Overall responsibility for project billing and cash flow.
  • Accountable for ETC accuracy.
  • Work with the purchasing department for vendor negotiations.
  • Review project management processes for more fluid system control.
  • Continued training with existing project managers and for new hires.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree specializing in business administration, construction management, or another relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience or a combination of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing several complex projects at one time.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Experience in the utility construction industry preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite of products; specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, manage, and execute tasks on competing projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various parties
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks and deliverables.
  • Ability to identify issues and utilize effective problem-solving skills to design solutions.
  • Effective time management skills, optimizing productivity and meeting project deadlines.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to analyze complex problems, break them down into manageable components and formulate effective solutions.
  • Ability to remain agile in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
