Our client is a well-respected turn-key site development company providing services throughout Central Florida. With roots as a small grading company, our client has quickly expanded into underground utilities, paving, concrete, and all other facets of site work.
Construction Estimator/Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Receiving/reading blueprints
- Performing takeoffs of blueprints
- Identifying potential conflicts in construction methodology proposed in the plans
- Working with material suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
- Writing up estimates and schedules for projects
- Coordinating with clients, engineers, inspectors, field staff, and subcontractors to answer questions
- Trouble shoot problems that may arise during construction and work with the team to develop cost effective solutions
- Writing up change orders for additional services
- Assist with billing and pay applications
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of related experience OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 5+ years of related experience
- Experience with site development takeoffs and project estimating• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with estimating and construction software - Bluebeam; AGTEK; AutoCAD - and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to conduct on-site evaluations, including climbing ladders and working in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license
