The Team

What You Will Do
As a Staff Interaction Designer (IxD), you will have various responsibilities in the User Experience and Product Definition team. This includes engaging with customers to better understand their needs, leveraging Human Centered Design (HCD) and research to create a holistic user experience, developing concepts and rapid prototypes, and translating high-level design concepts into design descriptions and guidelines. You will also participate in all stages of the product development lifecycle, balance creating the ideal user experience with business goals and time to market, conduct user testing to refine and validate product concepts, and lead design reviews and communicate design concepts to key stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist in the planning and execution of HCD/Design Thinking workshops and be an organizational advocate for Design, design process, and design thinking.

Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for the Staff Interaction Designer (IxD) (UX/UI) role at Stryker ULC, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in Interaction Design (IxD), User Experience (UX) Design, User Interface (UI) Design, or a related discipline. They should also have at least 4 years of professional experience and a portfolio that demonstrates mastery of the design process, UX/UI methodologies, and experience from concept through to commercialized product execution. Competency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Zeplin, and Balsamiq is required. Candidates should also have experience working with software development processes, Human Factors studies, ergonomics analysis, and user research. Collaboration skills, including working with marketing teams, software engineers, and other development team members, are also important. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as reading comprehension, are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications, Stryker ULC prefers candidates with experience in a healthcare or medical product development environment, familiarity with iterative processes like Agile Scrum, industrial design/product design experience, and physical model-making competency and experience in 3D modelling using software such as SolidWorks and Creo.
