Based in Columbia, Maryland, the successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and supporting cloud and virtual environments, including AWS and VMware. They will also be expected to install, troubleshoot, and manage applications, systems, and networks, as well as test systems and resolve security vulnerabilities. A minimum of eight years of experience in a similar role, a bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline, and an active Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification are required. The ideal candidate will have exposure to AWS and possess additional certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) 2012/2016. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Configure and support cloud and virtual environments including AWS and VMware

As a Senior Cloud System Administrator, one of the primary responsibilities is to configure and support cloud and virtual environments. This includes working with platforms such as AWS and VMware. The administrator must have a deep understanding of these platforms and be able to effectively set up and maintain the necessary infrastructure to support cloud computing and virtualization.

Maintain various operating systems in a variety of users and activities

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work environment for a Senior Cloud System Administrator is primarily an office setting located in Columbia, MD. The noise level is medium, and the typical work schedule is day shift Monday – Friday. However, there may be occasions when evening and weekend work is required to meet program and contract needs. Travel requirements for this position are minimal, with less than 10% of travel expected. Regarding physical demands, the administrator may need to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25-50 pounds occasionally.
