Responsibilities
Work Schedule
The normal work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, with 8.5-hour shifts between 6:30 am and 5:30 pm. However, varying times may be required as needed. Additionally, there is 24-hour in-house call required, no more than 3 times per month, as well as off-site beeper call required, also no more than 3 times per month.
Job Specific Details and Tasks
As an Anesthesiologist at ERP International, LLC, the responsibilities include providing anesthesia services for patients as scheduled by the Government. This includes general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, neuraxial anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care. The workload involves the evaluation and treatment of emergency, urgent, and non-emergent patients of various ages from infants to individuals over 65 years old.
Some specific tasks and duties of the role include:
- Providing immediate evaluation and management of emergency problems as they occur.
- Coordinating patient care through a continuum and facilitating optimal outcomes in terms of clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensuring compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility.
- Providing care within ethical and legal boundaries.
- Assessing and evaluating patients, both in person and through telephonic communication.
- Recognizing adverse signs and symptoms and reacting promptly in emergency situations.
- Possessing excellent oral communication skills for patient and family education.
- Prescribing and communicating treatment plans following established American Society of Anesthesiology protocols.
- Conducting telephone and in-person assessments/evaluations, including determining the need for follow-up care.
- Collecting and assessing significant patient history information and providing necessary patient teaching.
- Arranging for procedures and performing appropriate telephone follow-up.
- Demonstrating proficiency in setting up, operating, and monitoring specialized medical equipment.
- Ensuring the replenishment of medication and supplies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for the Anesthesiologist position at ERP International, LLC, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Degree/Education: M.D. or D.O.
- Residency/Fellowship: Completion of a residency or fellowship acceptable by the US Air Force Surgeon General in Anesthesiology.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- Licensure/Certification: Active/unrestricted license to practice as a physician from any state; BLS/ACLS/PALS certification; Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiologists or a Certified Anesthesiologist.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check/security clearance.
