Responsibilities & Qualifications
Evaluate technologies and determine risk
The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for evaluating technologies and determining the risk of technology architecture, implementation, and suitability for the customer. This may involve interacting with vendors to gather product security features, researching vulnerabilities/weaknesses, and providing implementation recommendations to Senior Management.
Work with architects and developers
The Cloud Security Engineer will collaborate with architects and developers to design optimal security practices when developing new systems, networks, and application functionality. They will ensure that security measures are integrated into the design process and that best practices are followed.
Document existing systems architecture
One of the responsibilities of the Cloud Security Engineer is to document the existing systems architecture and technology portfolio. This documentation will focus on continuous improvement and will serve as a reference for future security assessments and improvements.
Provide technical guidance in the development
The Cloud Security Engineer will provide technical guidance in the development and revision of customer solutions that incorporate Cloud technologies. They will work closely with the development teams to ensure that security considerations are addressed from the outset and that the solutions meet the required security standards.
Provide technical support for responding
The Cloud Security Engineer will provide technical support for responding to and implementing recommendations from the Office of Inspector General and Internal Controls/Internal Audit. They will assist in implementing the necessary security controls and measures to address any identified vulnerabilities or weaknesses.
Provide analysis and reporting on the cloud products
The Cloud Security Engineer will also provide analysis and reporting on the cloud products currently in use at the customer. This includes identifying high-risk services, analyzing data usage, and assessing potential threats. This analysis and reporting will help inform security decisions and facilitate proactive risk management.
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Five (5) years of experience in Information Technology

Knowledge of common cybersecurity technical controls
