Job Description
The Assistant Professor of User Experience will have various responsibilities within the program. These include teaching courses in design, research, and/or content for AI, ML, VR, AR, conversation design, search engine optimization, or UX strategy. The faculty member will also be involved in the refinement of the undergraduate UX program, connecting program graduates to industry partnerships, participating in student recruitment efforts, and advising current UX majors. Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for the position of Assistant Professor of User Experience, candidates must possess a Master’s degree in User Experience, Human-Centered Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Multimedia or Interactive Design, Information Science, Computer Science, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field. A Ph.D. in any of these fields is preferred. The position will be available beginning in the fall of 2024. The salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on an annual 9-month contract.

The HSC Department and UX Program

The UX Program has a close relationship with the Computer Science and Software Engineering programs, allowing for collaboration in various areas, including AI, ML, cyber security, data science, and computing education. The program’s Gene Carter Usability Lab provides a dedicated space for faculty and students to conduct research and develop engaging interactive experiences.

Milwaukee School of Engineering is located on the beautiful east side of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The campus is just blocks away from Lake Michigan, providing a picturesque setting for students and faculty.
